On Sunday 2nd April 2006, Wales' Manager John Toshack unveiled the 10th in our series of film plaques.
Commemorating what is believed to be the first filmed football international between Wales & Ireland in 1906 (yes it really was 100 years ago that this happened) at the famous Racecourse ground. Footage still exists of this historic event which was filmed by Mitchell & Kenyon.
The Racecourse ground is still the home of Wrexham Football Club today and the plaque is located on the outside wall of the ground, so it can be viewed at any time.
The competition to win a signed shirt has now CLOSED.

The next plaque to be unveiled will be a very special event celebrating the filming of The Life & Times of David Lloyd George, so if you are one for glamour and hobnobbing with some very well known faces from the world of TV and politics and fancy a trip to this beautiful part of North Wales, then read on!
Some of you may have seen the recent BBC4 programme about our famous statesman David Lloyd George and if you haven't, then you missed a treat. It may be hard for those younger people reading this to believe, but David Lloyd George could equal if not better some of the achievements of Winston Churchill as Prime Minister. Among his achievements were leading Britain to victory in the First World War, the introduction of old age pensions and women getting the right to vote. His work also paved the way for the introduction of the Welfare State we know today.
The competition for 2 invitations to join us for the unveiling of this plaque, has now CLOSED.
The winner's name will be publicised in our next newsletter .
